About me

I was born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1965. From my early childhood, photography became my first refuge — a quiet companion that taught me how to observe the world. A camera was perhaps the only gift I ever asked from my parents — a tool that allowed me to record the world around me. During my school years, I became deeply involved in developing and printing black‑and‑white photographs, working in a small darkroom I had set up myself. I studied at the National Technical University of Athens, in the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering, and after completing my studies I returned to Egypt to work in a company involved in the production, packaging, and trade of standardized food products. There, I became familiar with every aspect of how a business operates: from production and procurement to financial management and, eventually, the position of CEO.   And yet, throughout all those years, photography remained my personal space of freedom. A means of release, a parallel creative path that kept me connected to my inner world.   Since 2018, I have returned to it completely. As if one cycle closed and another opened — one that feels truer, more authentic, and entirely my own.
